The Dangers Of DIY Dentistry

Due to high dental costs, thousands of people are pulling out their own teeth out and repairing their teeth with glue found around the house.

There has been a dramatic rise in the sales of DIY dental kits resulting in many people not visiting their dentist. Potentially this could result in life-threatening conditions not being diagnosed.

Gulf War veteran Ian Boynton, 46, pulled out 13 of his teeth with pliers because he was in agony and could not find an NHS dentist to treat him.

DIY dental practices can be extremely dangerous, and it has been reported that people have tried to whiten their teeth using household cleaning products and have popped mouth ulcers with pins!

In another case a 46-year-old man from Wandsworth, south London, needed major surgery after he stuck a crown into his mouth with super glue which rotted the bone in his gum.

It’s very important that patients visit a dentist on a regular basis for check-ups as dentists can spot oral cancer early and other problems that are linked to heart disease, etc.
