Dental Tourists Save Thousands By Crossing The Irish Border

Patients are crossing the border for dental treatments from the Republic into Northern Ireland to take advantage of lower costs, where they can save thousands on dental services.

Whilst fillings and tooth extractions are priced similarly on each side of the border, other dental treatments such as bridge work, root canals and crowns are much less costly in Northern Ireland.

One dentist said, “My earnings come mainly from treating patients from the south. It’s the cost of the dental work that brings them here.

Many dentists in Northern Ireland are noting that half of their patients are from the south.
