A leading oral health charity is warning people against DIY dentistry after an alarming number of people revealed they would not visit the dentist to have a tooth extracted.
A recent survey commissioned by the British Dental Health Foundation revealed that approximately 20% of people would take steps to extract a tooth themselves if they could not afford to pay the cost of the dental treatment.
Dr Nigel Carter OBE, Chief Executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, spoke of the dangers of DIY Dentistry. He stressed that it can lead to unnecessary suffering and even more costly treatments to correct the problem.
Remember, it is important to visit your dentist regularly for check-ups to keep your oral health on the right track and ensure any problems which may exist do not deteriorate beyond repair.
