More kids can now qualify for free dental care in Lambton County via Healthy Smiles Ontario new raised income level.
This now means that families with no dental insurance who qualify under the raised level could get dental treatments for children aged 17 years and younger.
“The increase to the eligibility criteria means more children and youth will now be able to receive free dental coverage from their dentists,” said Matt Joosse, a health promoter with Lambton Public Health. “This is a great way to kick off Oral Health Month.”
Good oral hygiene should be practised from an early age. The new increase enables approximately 70,000 children to receive free dental care including checkups, fillings, cleanings, and X-rays.
