Over recent years there have been various initiatives to help avoid tooth decay in children.
Pediatric dentists say anything that can be done to avoid tooth decay in children, has to be a good thing.
This year, one of these popular initiatives is being hosted by Commerce Park Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics.
The Commerce Park Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics Candy Buy Back scheme will offer $1 in exchange for a pound of candy. There is a maximum exchange of 5 pounds of candy, but you also get a ticket for their prize raffle.
Amongst the prizes in the raffle are gift certificates and a Sonicare toothbrush.
The candy buy back will take place:
On November 1st, between 8.30 a.m. and 12 p.m. at 27 Huntington Plaza, Huntington, CT.
On November 3rd, between 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 27 Huntington Plaza, Huntington, CT.
Also on November 3rd, between 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 4702 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT.
Questions regarding the event can be answered by calling (203) 371-8282
Using a regular fun childrens oral hygiene routine is very important, but avoiding too much sugar will not only help their teeth, but benefit their health generally.
Eating the right foods for healthy teeth is also important, especially when it comes to kids.
So, what happens to the candy that has been exchanged?
The candy is donated to the brave troops serving overseas, through ‘Operation Gratitude’.
This clever candy buy back scheme allows rewards for kids in exchange for candy, thereby helping their teeth, while rewarding the troops with a small treat.
