Give Kids A Smile Day

Many children and parents will be guided by “tooth fairies” and other “dental heroes” through the Teddy Bear Clinic onto dental treatment and cleanings at the annual “Give Kids a Smile Day” from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 at University at Buffalo’s South Campus.

“This year our theme is ‘Super smiles brought to you courtesy of your dental hero’ because anyone who volunteers or participates to make this day a success is a dental hero.”

While children wait for their appointments, they will watch while Teddy Bears get dental treatment and will also be offered hands-on activities, dental videos, games and oral health instruction and visits by local sports mascots.

The event is in partnership with the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association and the 8th District Dental Society as part of a national effort to teach good dental health habits in children, to avoid major oral health problems later in life and to alleviate dental anxiety.
