Gina Brown has never had regular dental treatment and could not afford dental insurance or dentist costs herself, so she was grateful to receive around $1,000 worth of free dental work recently.
She’s lived with oral pain for years.
“I’m just really thankful,” Brown said. “It changes my life. It’s the only way it would’ve been done. We wouldn’t have been able to afford it.”
The free dental care event was at he Kaiser Permanente Cascade Park Dental Office on Saturday, which provided a range of treatments which included fillings, tooth extraction procedures, root canals, and cleaning, along with education about general dental hygiene.
The Free Clinic’s waiting list has about 500 names on it. Getting into the clinic for a screening and treatment can take several months, said Carolyn Noack, the clinic’s dental program manager.
