Dental Care for Babies

Pediatric dentists were recently asked about the best time to start taking a baby to a dentist.

“We see a lot of kids that have cavities at the age of two and that can be very disheartening both for the kid and for the parents and for us. Nobody wants to see a young child have to go through dental treatment at a young age, especially if it can be preventable,” said Dr. Andrea D’addario with Rocky Mountain Pediatric.

Good early dental habits are very important. A child should normally have their first dental visit around the age of one, which is usually about 6 months after they get their first tooth.

Children who take a bottle to bed can cause major dental problems as it can cause cavaties.

Parents should commence brushing when their baby gets the first tooth to prevent dental problems with children.
