Child Dental Care Schemes

The federal government recently revealed the Commonwealth Children’s Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS) which funds dental care for children whose parent’s are in receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A.

CDBS provides up to $1000 every 2 years for dental treatments such as check ups, fillings, Xrays, flouride work, dental sealants, having teeth pulled, and more.

Dentist Dr Gary Mack from the Moora Dental Clinic said this was an important initiative by the federal government in promoting dental care especially in children, which may lead to better dental health later in life.

HBF also recently introduced a scheme.

The main aim of the schemes is to stop small dental issues turning into more serious health problems by receiving early dental treatments.
